Saints Foundation - Self-isolation Exercises

With the onset of Coronavirus and people being told to isolate and work from home, the Saints Foundation quickly wanted to offer something for the more vulnerable members of society, to keep them active even whilst still at home.

Where usually the team run exercise classes for the elderly, they asked us to produce a film with a series of simple exercises that the same people could do from home - so they still felt connected to the Foundation and kept their level of fitness up, which is so important, especially for this age group.

We produced a main 10 minute film, showing a full range of exercises as well as a trailer for social media. The films are shown on the Southampton Football Club’s website and social media channels, where viewers are encouraged to send in pictures of themselves doing the activity, to keep that sense of community going.

Saints 4 Sport - Alistair Gray

Filmmaking is not all about the glamorous or high action shoots - at the end of the day, it’s about the storytelling and this was one of our favourite stories to tell. Alistair Gray turned to alcohol and crime at the age of 27 when his sister died and ended up spending much of his adult years in and out of prison. The future was bleak for him, until he turned to the Saints Foundation for help and realised how much there was to gain from taking part in sports activities and the education programme. With the Foundation’s help, he stayed sober, has a purpose in life and is now on the way to a brighter future.

We only had a short time to film with Alistair and shoot him in action at the boxing gym, but during that time were really moved by his story and realised what a lovely person he was and the great job in which the Saints Foundation do.

London Theatre Project - The 43 Club Success

Earlier in the year, Bullet was approached by a theatre company with an exciting project; to secure a slot at a major London theatre for their production of a new musical - The 43 Club. We were delighted to help and proceeded to create a video to be used in a crowd-funding campaign to raise necessary funds for the production. We staged a set and filmed the authors and one of the main actors explaining their cause and telling the story behind the 43 Club and Kate Meyrick - London’s notorious nightclub owner who shone a torch for female independence in the 1920s. We produced a full five-minute film for the campaign, as well as a 60-second promo version to use in social media.

The video Bullet produced was stunning and their professionalism, attention to detail, expertise and dedication to producing a first rate product was absolutely faultless. We couldn’t have achieved our fundraising targets without their help and we’re looking forward to using Bullet again as we begin the next stage of our exciting campaign.

After successfully achieving the desired level of funding through the crowd-funding campaign to perform at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Other Palace Theatre London, we were asked back to film throughout their Development Week in July. We headed up to London to get some behind the scenes footage of the rehearsals, from the Monday when the crew got together, to the Friday when the musical was performed to a live audience. We released each film the day after it was shot in order to provide content in the run up to the event to build interest and excitement, capturing soundbites from the audience and those involved in the production.

We are delighted to learn that the musical was a great success and has now been granted a two-week run at a theatre in the the West End, which we can’t wait to go and see!

Introducing the Football Family

Football Family is an initiative set up by Louis Langdown and Adam Wilde to support players who, at the age of 16-18 are not given a professional contract and so released from the team. Many of these players have spent a decade or more training and to be suddenly dropped from a club can be psychologically damaging. Louis and Adam, along with a team of mentors, including Southampton FC's Jack Stephens and Sam McQueen provide support for these youngsters at AFC Totton. Bullet produced a video to explain the family concept, how it helps mental health in football and follows the story of two young players, Connor and Jack who are now associates of the Football Family and are benefiting from the support. In addition, Bullet produced some social media teasers to get viewers engaged in the scheme.

The 43 Club - Crowdfunding Film

FUNDING UPDATE!!  We’re pleased to report that the target funding level has been achieved on time and the musical will now take place on 20th July 2018. Bullet is scheduled to shoot some behind the scenes films in the run up to the event, featuring interviews with the cast and sneak previews of the rehearsals ahead of the big day. According to Kenneth Clarke, co-author of the musical:

The video Bullet produced was stunning and their professionalism, attention to detail, expertise and dedication to producing a first rate product was absolutely faultless. We couldn’t have achieved our fundraising targets without their help and we’re looking forward to using Bullet again as we begin the next stage of our exciting campaign.

This is a short promo for the crowdfunding campaign that a theatre company are running to try and raise money to develop and perform their musical, 'The 43 Club' at Andrew Lloyd Webber's Other Palace Theatre in London. They asked us to produce a film (scripted by them) to drum up support for their campaign - two versions, a short 60-second promo and a longer 4 minute film.  Here's the shorter version, and the link to the full campaign is here: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/the-43-club.

Within the first fortnight of launching the campaign, they attracted 70% of funding and are on target to achieve their desired amount.  Check out the behind the scenes images and rehearsals that took place for the actual production in London.

Saints Together Week 2018

Bullet were asked to work with Saints Foundation to create a series of four videos for Southampton FC's second annual Saints Together week, following on from the huge success of a similar campaign the previous year. The aim was to show the connection between the Foundation, the Club and the local community and use inspirational stories to show the variety of programmes offered. Each video was shot on a different location, with its own challenges in a limited time period. Two crew members went on each shoot and then the footage was edited back in the Southampton-based studio and delivered on time for the campaign week.

SaintsAbility
The first video featured athlete Iwan Thomas who visited Saints Foundation’s Regional Talent Hub to discover what the SaintsAbility project is doing for young people with a disability, and learn more about one participant’s inspiring story.
