Saints Foundation & The Big Issue

Saints Foundation, the official charity of Southampton Football Club, teamed up with The Big Issue to provide an amazing opportunity for its vendors to enrol in an intensive employability programme.

To launch the campaign, Bullet filmed Southampton Football players visiting Winchester to meet the Big Issue vendors, offering their support for the day in selling the magazine to the public.

We then filmed the employability programme over six weeks to capture the true essence of the project and interview participants and organisers throughout the process.

The ethos for the programme was to give a ‘hand up, not a hand out’ to the most vulnerable in society who’s lives have been blighted by poverty and lack of opportunity.  The aim of the programme was to equip the vendors, and other adults from the local community, with job-ready skills, and offer them work placements across Southampton Football Club.

We were honoured to be able to witness first-hand the way it genuinely changed people’s lives. The Foundation do an amazing job in our local community and we are proud to be able to bring their work to life on film.
