Bullet kit in-house photoshoot

Our kit is our life, we love and cherish it, wrap it up carefully each night and protect it from the elements. Some might say lockdown has gone to our heads - and maybe it has! But we decided to give our in-house equipment its very own photoshoot and loved the results so much, we thought we’d share them!

Still photography is one of the services we offer our clients, alongside video marketing, and our visual effects and lighting can really bring the product to life. We think our kit is beautiful - hopefully you agree!

Perfecting our skills in isolation

Despite being unable to film so much at the moment, we’re keeping our hand in with projects we’ve always wanted to do and practice our filmmaking skills. It’s been a great opportunity to film in the challenging environment of our own homes and do what Bullet does best - making everyday activities look awesome!

Ben kicked off the challenge by creating a video of his stepdad playing the piano, going back to basics to do the simple things well. By setting the scene in his living room with good lighting and camera angles, he created a warm, moving atmosphere for this beautiful film.

Mandy - Rocky Road

Next, he turned to his mum’s cooking talents to film her creating one of her renowned ‘Rocky Road’ delights. Here he tried out some of the techniques we’re going to be using for a patisserie client in the future (once lockdown is over). Using different scenes, camera angles and after effects, he created this high energy, funky cooking film, which had us all watering at the mouth!

Look out for more films like this coming soon!

Charity inspired at home...

We’re pleased to say that our work with the Saints Foundation inspired our own family members to undertake a fundraising mission last week to raise awareness of the Foundation. Rachel Willsher (Matt’s wife) and her children didn’t know much about the Foundation before seeing some of the videos and hearing about the projects we were filming. With community spirit being incredibly important for us all at the moment, it highlighted just how valuable the work is that the Foundation do in our local community.

With this in mind - and with the desire to do something to help charities who may be unable to get the support they need at this time - the family set up a Justgiving page and made friendship bracelets to sell to local residents as a small way to ‘do their bit’ (whilst observing social distancing of course!). To their surprise this raised a staggering £700 in just one day for the Foundation - and had a run of extra orders to fulfil! The team at Bullet are very proud of their family and pleased to have been able to help a charity very close our hearts.

Out and about with Work Experience Chloe

We were pleased to welcome year 10 student, Chloe, for a week to undertake work experience at Bullet to complement her Media GCSE, which she’s studying at Kings School in Winchester. This is the first time Bullet has taken on a work experience student and it’s been a great opportunity to give a young person an insight into the industry to see if it is something they would like to pursue.

When she joined the team, our aim was to give her a taster of all areas of filming and editing, with some on-site shooting practice too. Her first project was to get know the cameras, so we sent her out with a few missions to practise filming and exposing the camera properly. Once this was mastered, she took a camera home to complete a short project we gave her about her family, which she edited herself and looked brilliant!

Chloe also joined us on a couple of shoots out on location and it was great to see her get stuck in and ask lots of questions. She also helped with some ongoing projects, clipping up footage and taking on some multi-cam editing.

It was a pleasure having her in our studio. She shows fantastic promise and we look forward to welcoming her back and gaining more experience next summer.

SportPesa & eToro filming - BTS

Check out what happened behind the scenes during the filming of the eToro series for Southampton FC and the recreation of the iconic Rickie Lambert goal, as part of the SportPesa Kits for Africa campaign. We managed to squeeze filming for the two projects in one shoot, interviewing some of Southampton FC’s legendary heroes, which was a great honour, and setting up the Rickie Lambert goal, which he shot to perfection. And whilst we dreamed of being on the pitch ourselves, we quickly realised our place was definitely behind the camera!

Movember Monday - the Moustaches are out!

Bullet’s production team decided to embrace the awareness campaign for men’s health this year, by participating in the charity ‘Movember’. Matt and Ben joined forces as fellow ‘mo bros’ to attempt to grow some facial hair on their upper lip during the month of November. Finally, in the last week of the month, two respectable moustaches have appeared!

Bullet will be donating money to Movember at the end of the month and welcomes any donations to this worthy cause, which helps raise awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health in men. Check out the photos - no giggles please, it’s a serious issue!

Behind the Scenes - the 43 Club filming

Something a bit different! Here's some of the behind the scenes shots of a crowdfunding film we're currently producing for a theatre company, who are trying to raise money to develop and perform their musical, 'The 43 Club' at Andrew Lloyd Webber's Other Palace Theatre in London. Check out the finished film here.

Behind the Scenes at the Big Issue & Saints Foundation Film

We were proud to film the Saints Foundation's latest 'Employability' campaign and to launch it, some of the Southampton FC players visited Winchester to meet the Big Issue vendors - and join in with the sales. Here's a snippet of what went on behind the scenes!

Working with Adam Knibb's Architects

Great to see the latest testimonial film we created for Adam Knibb Architects has now been released and is generating interest on their site! Check out some of the behind the scenes images from the shoot too.

Tough Mudder survivors!

Great working with Creative Capture Media on the latest Tough Mudder night shoot - glad we were on the other side of the camera and not in the mud!
